If mymemory is correct, OPTICRON started as a retailer back in the 1970`s,but then turned to selling their own brand of optics sourced from topJapanese optics factories.Listedhere isan excellentstillboxed OPTICRON`MIGHTY MIDGET` waterproof &nitrogen filled 18-50x ZOOM 60mmspotting scope or `field scope` as OPTICRON had it labelled. TheMIGHTY MIDGET lightweight spotting scopes (or travel scopes as theyhave become known) have been developed over the years and are now ona fourth generation design the MM4. This 60mmexampleof the original mighty midget with zoomeyepiece is in great condition with no real signs of use, `MINTCONDITION` if you like! Itcomes with bothlens caps andits soft nylon case andfeaturesarubber fold down eyecup forspectacle wearers. The eyepiece has both zoom and focus controlswhich both operate smoothly.The opticsare excellent for such a small instrument.I have paired it with anOPTICRON UNIVERSAL MOUNT II which is a hide clamp itis also stillboxed andlike the scope ithas no signs of ever being seriously used. Defects:possiblyafewtinyinternal dust specks in the scope; the clampbox is a little tatty.itake great care examining, using and describing the binoculars andscopes i sell, and always get a second opinion. however, i am not aprofessional and my description is based on my experience and honestassessment; most examples i sell are at least 35 years old and theremay be other defects…….also, please remember, everyone`s eyes aredifferent…..
