ZeissTelextin 16x binoculars – A rare collectors item c1912
A rare collectors item is a quote taken from this very informative website.https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fernglasmuseum.at%2Fmuseum%2Fzeiss_telextin_16x%2Fzeiss_telextin_16x.html&anno=2Produced in the short period of two years between 1912/13 with approximately only 1400 made, there are apparently only about 28 currently recorded with collectors. This Telextin example is one of these early models which differs from the D.F.16x military model only in that it has different inscriptions and should have a civilian clamping wheel but it is missing from these. This set is in good original condition. The paint is typically worn on the edges of the brass cover plates. The leather covering is in very good condition with no tears or bits missing. The very distinctive eye cups are undamaged. The lenses and prisms are generally clean, clear, and collimated. The inscriptions are clear and legible. They read Carl Zeiss Jena on the left and Telextin 413409 16 x 40 on the right. Both oculars focus freely although although the right hand one has a very slight judder on its travel, but it is very slight.
