For auction today is a rare vintage /antique “The Scout Iris Paris ” field binoculars dating to about the 1920s or a little earlier and comes with a good leather case. The Scout is written on one lens tube and on the other is written Iris Paris. The binoculars are brass with leather/leatherette covering and black enamel paint work which is worn in parts down to the brass. The leather covering on one side of the lens tube has split and come away a little and there is a dent there aswell, on the other lens tube the covering is missing and the metal/brass has a worn patina.The eye piece on one lens tube , the brass has bent a little and on the other side there is a couple of dings, one of the larger lens surround also has a bent to it.
The focus works well and the lenses are nice and clear considering its age. The case is in equally good condition generally but has age patina to it and the stitching is in goo order. The binoculars themselves have no strap but he case has the shoulder strap ad working buckle.
I think this is more of a personal field binoculars as opposed to military issue ones as they are pretty small measuring just over 3.5 ins tall not extended, but could be wrong.
The item is sold as seen, therefore, ask questions and look at the pictures as I also have a policy of no returns, I only send my items recorded sign for delivery and welcome Paypal only please.
