Vintage TAL 100R scope with its wooden tripod.it is a telescope with very good reputation. It’s excellent for observing moon, planets, double stars, large galaxies, clusters etc. The chromatic aberration is well controlled by the optics.
The scope body has some scratch marks on the paintwork. The included dewshield and diagonal are in very good condition. The front lens is clean overall, but I donotice a very little mark on the lens coating at the edge, possibly due to aging. The finder scope withbhelical focuser is good as well although the finder mount is a bit shaky and I used some PTFE tape on the finder mount screws.
The tripod is in very good overall condition, however one of the hasp and staple lock for eyepiece tray is missing, that’s also reason that I didn’t use the set up too much.
The EQ mount looks fine and acounterweight is included as well.
I think I have a large enough box and enough packing materials so I’m able to pack it up securely and send.
Overall the condition of the telescope is reasonable, considering its age. However some DIY is needed on the tripod.
