TheGerman ADLERBLICK (eagle view) brand of JAPANESE manufacturedbinoculars were very popular back in the 1980`s & 90`s particularly in the U.K. where they were branded VICKERS ADLERBLICK.They were available in a range of porroprism sizes and came in adistinctive glossy brown case with the eagle head emblem. In reality,the basic binocular `chassis` was used by many other brands includingviking, vixen, opticron and swift but with different body coveringsand probably different lens coatings. In my opinion ALL of them areworth seeking out due to their lightweight and high resolutionoptical performance; they certainly are a bit of a bargain buy andplenty of them are still in active use by those in the know.
Thislisting is for a VICKERS ADLERBLICK 10 x 50 porroprism binocular invery smart cosmetic condition complete with its original box(slightly tatty), case, case straps, lens caps, rainguard, neckstrap,lens cloth and silica gel sachet. The binocular features fully coatedoptics, fold down rubber eyecups for spectacle wearers and a tripodbush in the lower hinge. This example is performing very well,delivering bright and very sharp images and with all controls workingsmoothly. However, it has suffered from internal fungus and I`m surehas had an internal clean in the past. Some fungal `shadow` is stillpresent as it often is, plus some old cleaning marks, dust specks anda couple of small fibres . Otherwise, the optics are clear!
