50mm binoculars are the “bread and butter” of the binocular world. They are general purpose and suitable
for most applications. They offer ample light gathering for most uses, are small enough to fit in your
glove box, rucksack or panniers and easy to hold.

Our marine models not only have watertight seals but are nitrogen filled to avoid condensation.
They’re also a tougher construction than our normal 50mm and a bit heavier. They use denser BAK-4
prisms and level IV optical coatings, this is our highest level of optical performance and gives
excellent results at dusk or in low light conditions. 5 layers of coating on every air-glass boundary all
the way through the binocular!

These binoculars are shock proof to 20g. They are military specification (MIL-spec) passed for 1m
metre of water for one hour. They are certified for operation from -40C to +50C and have passed a MIL-
spec vibration test. Almost indestructible

Because these are shock proof they are independent focus, you turn each eye individually to adjust
them. There is no centre focus wheel. In practice this isn’t a problem as they have a very wide range of
focus.

We find this isn’t a model that sells well on the internet, yet whenever we do country fairs or
exhibitions they are our best seller! Once people try them and see what a bright, high resolution image
they offer and are easily convinced of their merits.

They can be tripod mounted using our inexpensive L bracket (6.99+VAT) but are easily light enough to
hand hold for long periods.

These binoculars have fold down rubber eye cups, perfect for spectacle wearers.

caps.

Shipping

UK shipping normally takes two business days, an express service may be possible. Items are sent same day
if ordered before our courier’s collection. For items under 2kg there is no extra charge for EC shipping,
please ask for a quote on larger items or non-European sales.

Payment

We prefer paypal, but can also take BACS or cheques. We take credit or debit cards over the phone on
01479 812549. We prefer debit cards as credit cards charge us a 3.5% fee.

Price includes VAT, a receipt will be sent with the binoculars unless you ask us not to (if they’re a
present for example). If you’re outside the UK and can give me a VAT number in your EC country I don’t
need to add VAT. If you’re outside the EC you don’t need to pay either.

Our prices are low as we’re a factory outlet. There is no margin built in for high street stores,
