For sale is a Skywatcher Skyliner 300p Flextube Dobsonian. This telescope has remarkably clear optics as can be imagined with such a large aperture, I have recently upgraded to a motorised dobsonian so I no longer have a use for this telescope hence the reason I am selling. The telescope is the largest scope that you could have which could be disassembled and placed into a car by one person, this therefore gives you all the benefits of a large aperture scope but without the drawbacks relating to portability, also because it is slide truss telescope it is very easy to store at home. The telescope itself is in very good condition with the mirror being very clean and clear, the finder scope is included with the telescope and is the original Skywatcher scope. The focuser is a standard Crayford focuser which is perfectible acceptable for visual use. The dobsonian mount that the telescope sits on is very solid – however unfortunately the bottom piece of wood on the mount has had some delamination of the veneer as can be seen in the photographs – this was like this when I purchased the scope three years ago and has got no worse with use even though it has been used in an area with very heavy dews – the lamination has also raised slightly on the rear support however this can be very easily glued back if you so wished. The scope comes with its original 10mm and 25mm eyepieces in addition to the 2″ eyepiece adaptor and a copy of the original instruction manual. This is an excellent telescope and would make a great Christmas present for someone who wishes to move on to a bigger telescope. Collection only due to size and weight – cash on collection preferred.
