This Auction is for a very nice Helios (Skywatcher/Evostar) 120mm Refracting telescope and EQ-3 Mount & Extending Aluminium Tripod.

This is a great telescope for all Astronomical observation/photography.  Superb for Lunar and Planetary work, but with it’s large 120mm aperture has plenty of light-gathering power for deep-sky objects also.  It’s 1000mm focal length and F8 focal ratio makes this scope a great all-rounder.

This is a good-sized scope – see the pic showing alongside my Helios ST- 80mm Refractor (NOT included in the sale) for comparison!

Condition is good with a few marks to the tube but no dents, and overall very nice and , mechanically perfect – it’s a great “user” scope.Objective lens is clean and has a few light cleaning marks which are hard to spot and do not affect image quality – they don’t show up at all on the pic.

The sturdy EQ-3 Equatorial Mount has slow-motions in both axes and setting circles also.

The Extending aluminium tripod is both lightweight and rigid with plenty of height when extended.

Condition is pretty much perfect with movements smooth and no damage.

Included in the sale is a star diagonal, Red Dot LED finder and 25mm wide angle Super Plossl eyepiece.

The Telescope makers Synta used to use the name Helios prior to changing to Skywatcher.
