Message from rodwil0 – I have been on ebay since 2004 and have sold many items. Because I am a good seller with a high feedback score, in their wisdom, ebay have insisted that I change my account which is something that I do not wish to do. As a consequence, ebay have restricted my selling as rodwil0 and suggested that I start a new account. So here we are, a new account name but with the same level of service.
Scarce Goerz D.F. 99 binoculars with early private number & case
Regarded as rather rare, these Goerz D.F. 99 binoculars have the Goerz patented liner focusing oculars whereby the rotation of the ocular ring moves the ocular lens in/out to focus without rotating the eye cups. This system was developed in the late 1890s with production of this model commencing circa 1900. This particular set have an early serial number 24519 and are engraved with an early private number P. Nr. 397. They are in very good original condition. They have general wear to the paint but the top cover plates are still good with clear inscriptions. The leather covering has a few minor scuff marks but is all secure. Both eye cups are original and are undamaged. The linear focusing oculars focus smoothly. The optics are undamaged but slightly misty so would benefit from cleaning. The binoculars come with their original, distinctively shaped leather case. It is in good condition with all seams, belt loops, and clasp, being secure.
