KOMZ : Kazan Optical-Mechanical Factory. Kazan is located about 435 miles due East of Moscow, in what was, or is, the Autonomous Republic of Tatars. Kazan has manufactured a wide variety of 35mm RF and SLR accessory lenses, in addition to slide projectors, underwater camera housings, laboratory equipment, civil and military binoculars, and aerial cameras and lenses. Current status unknown.KOMZ now sign their binoculars with the factory alias “Baigish”.
Excellent Military Komz (Baigish) 6nu5 8×30 multi coated, metal bodied binoculars. Genuine Russian, not rubbish plastic Chinese import – (Please see the actual Pictures of These binoculars) .They feature Bak4 prisms. These binoculars have ” Made in Russia”, with a Russian Serial number ,and 6nu5 (Baigish) – which is the military arm of “Komz” printed on them.- Komz are the respected USSR optics supplier to the military.. .. Military Specification includes x8 magnification, very wide 8.30 degrees field of view, Smooth Focusing, Right eyepiece adjustment ,Metal body ,Bak4 Prisms, as new black leather strap ..Completely Undented and Unmarked.. including a superb black Leather red lined case with as new leather straps ,2 Press on Amber Filters , .Focus down to a very useful 3 metres .Operating temperature ranges from – 40 to +50c ..Lightweight and easy to use..(Please examine the actual pictures)Lenses and coatings Unmarked, Unscratched..Internally pristine, No Dust fungus chips or problems.Very Bright and Very Sharp, Genuine Russian binoculars which compare very favourably to High Quality manufacturers like Zeiss..Perfectly collimated and easy to use for hours – No eyestrain, no headaches.There is a very difficult to see hairline crack to the plastic hinge button,cosmetic only,and has no effect whatsoever.
