Polish8 x 30 Military Binoculars with Reticle and Case 1967. For sale is anauthentic pair of Polish military glasses dated 1967 and with theiroriginal case and all accessories. The binoculars, which are of theusual military-style individual eyepiece focusing type, have arange-finding reticle in the right eyepiece. They have blue opticalcoatings and there is a faint amber hue in the optics. This is oftenfound in post-WW2 Warsaw Pact optics and indicates the use ofradiation-resistant flint glass for certain critical internalcomponents to give survivability on a nuclear battlefield, given that gamma rayscause fogging in normal optical glass. The binoculars have theiroriginal case with a list of contents (in Polish) in the lid which Ihave translated see final photo. Inside the case are two amber hazefilters, a spare bakelite eyecup and a small cleaning cloth. The casehas the usual belt loop on the rear. The original leather rainguardand lanyard are still fitted to the binoculars. From the condition ofthe paint, they have obviously seen service use. But optics are stillperfect no fungusmhaze or dust and nicely collimated, possiblydue to an optical overhaul before putting into long term store. Theyview very well indeed, the usual high-quality Soviet forces optics. Thebinoculars will be very carefully packed in a well padded box fordispatch and sent fully insured.
