I’m loathed to sell it as this type of scope never seems to come up and I loved using it, especially compared to my unwieldy reflector, but I never use it anymore. Life just got too busy and anyway I have a hankering for an RC…

Standard (I think) f5 airspaced achromat, awfully damn similar to the skywatcher star-travel (looking at the pics of the original focuser versus the skywatcher they look absolutely the same) however I have changed out that dubious unit for a single speed 2″ crayford unit, mounted on an inch thick adaptor plate. It is rock solid when focusing. I have also added a Williams optics 2″ VR-1 filter which vastly reduces comma error. Image is stunning without going into 4 figure sums.

The tube rings were also modded to allow a small guider piggy back scope to be mounted. I used to use a 4″ refractor for that duty.

The short tube allows stable mounting on an EQ-5 and up. I do have one of these with a decent tripod and may list in the near future or contact me for a new listing.

There are a couple of marks on the dewshield with quite a few storage chips around the rim. Also some pen marks on the body with a bit discolouration under the mount rings from the flock – none of which affects its use. That being said, this is basically similar to the skywatcher but with the crayford and and the filter to boot at a little over half the price, so I’m not interested in silly offers. If it doesn’t sell, I’ll be quite happy to keep.

I also had a home made electric focuser attached to this rig (hate focus wobble) and I’ll throw that in with the sale.

I HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY THE ORIGINAL SELLER AND THE IT SHOULD BE AN F5. (750/150)
