Opticron ES 100 GA ED TelescopeThe telescope is used but in very good condition. No signs of damage tolenses. Minor signs of wear to body. It is functioning very well. The telescopeis equipped with an eyepiece, tripod and protective carry case. The following description is taken from the Opticron web site:”The advantages of a 100mm diameter objectivelens cannot be overstated when viewing at magnifications over 50x. Having asurface are 1.5x that of an 80mm OG Fieldscope, the ES 100 GA ED is easily ableto outperform similarly specified 80mm ED and fluorite models deliveringbrighter images with a higher resolving power.For terrestrial use better definition and highercolour contrast mean more accurate and more enjoyable long range viewing.Preferred HDF eyepieces include a 30xWW and 42xWW plus the 27-80x zoom.For Astronomy, the ES 100’s versatility as acompact F650mm 4 inch refractor with erected image viewing should not beunderestimated. Magnification options for this application include 6mm and 5mmlong eye relief eyepieces delivering 107x and 134x respectively.”In summary, the 100mm objective provides optical performancethat is comparable to far more expensive 60 and 80 mm objective telescopes. Thepenalty is it is larger, weighing 2.2kg. It’s portable using the carry case, but best suited to applications where you do not need tocarry it long distances. The telescope comes with an Opticron HDF eyepiece shown in the picturesthat provides a fixed magnification of 58x with this telescope.Also included is the tripod Opticron supply with the scope. It issimilar to a Velbon Sherpa 200. The panhead has a large attachment plate which is good for use with this scope. I am willing ship internationally but buyer willhave to cover costs in addition to the UK postage. Opticron supplies the scope with a 30 yearguarantee It is also possible to buy accessories to adapt thescope for photography.
