Unusual (and useful) piece of kit.
Made by Minolta to enable an ordinary film camera lens to be used as a small telescope.
Note that this converter can be used with any film camera lens- not just Minolta ones- all that’s needed for other lens is the relevant adaptor (these are widely available on ebay). I used this with a M42 mount mated to a Russian MC Rubinar 500mm mirror lens.
I’ll include the M42 adaptor in the sale.
How it works- for those not familiar with these converters- in the case of the 500mm lens I used this converts to a 50 (fifty) magnification telescope of around 9 inches in length. To obtain the resulting magnification with any lens simply divide the lens focal length by a factor of 10.
The image is both the correct way up and the correct way round unlike some converters designed for astronomical use.
I found it quite handy for birdwatching since the resulting scope is usually pocket sized.
No longer needed as I recently switched to digiscoping.
