Meade LX90 SCT 8” UHTC GOTO Telescope. 8 inch mirror. Awesome piece of kit that Ive owned from new. Sadly keeping it on an island north West Scotland most of its life has taken its toll (scope is now back in my Glasgow home) There is no actual damage but there is quite a bit of corrosion. Ive tried to be honest with the photos and description. As a scope it still works fine but battery compartments have corroded (works from a powerpack) Ive never used the GoTo function but it does fire up. Don’t know if it actually works to track as I’m old school and do it all manually (dont know how to work the GoTo handset!) Tripod is perfect but there is a crack and bubbling/corrosion to the mount but works fine. The scope itself is fine but has corrosion, no dents and still perfectly round. Main mirror is fine but marks on the outer glass. Does not appear to affect viewing. I paid £1500 new and although it looks a bit rough, does seem to work fine as a manual scope. Its big and very heavy, too much now for me to carry now so have purchased a smaller lighter set up. I don’t have original packaging but do have the high end flight case but this will be sold separately due to its cost. To big to post out so for collection only. It has seen better days but still works as a big scope. It is still an awesome telescope costing £1800 new today. Comes with lenses in picture. Any inspection welcome.
