Here are 2 sets of WW1 field glasses purchased at Detling Military odyssey in Kent some years ago. The larger pair are Joseph Levi of Paris just after the turn of the Century and  operate smoothly and you can focus the image okay but I am no expert on optics. The leather is good and complete. The second smaller pair again are made in Paris but unusually have a compass fitted. I was told these were used by pilots in WW1 to look for enemy planes and also know your location in poor weather. This set has a cracked lens but operates smoothly and the leather is in good condition and complete and comes with its original leather case and strap. Both items are being sold as seen but are great display items, two for the price of one.
