Helios 150mm Refractor & EQ3 mount – No Tripod.

Scope Issues –
1. very small fungal patch in objective lens – has no effect at all on visual use, cannot be seen, Has been treated with a uv light. I cannot get a photograph of it. This occurred when the scope had to be put in external storage 2 years ago, has not grown since then.
2. Small scratch on tube caused by scope slipping in the tube rings when slackening off – easily painted over. See the photo, the scratch is the mark below the HELIOS logo, the bright area is the camera flash.
Mount Issue – there is play in the RA Axis but it still works.
There is no tripod – the stupid flimsy aluminium one was totally inadequate for the size & weight of this scope. It needs a beefy tripod or a pier to support it properly. For a couple of years I had it mounted on a simple 4×4 wooden post on a lazy susan base – worked great.
This will be a great project for someone with some basic diy skills (or someone who already has a beefy tripod).
This scope is very large & heavy so can only be collected in person from Sheffield – postage is not an option.
The Tube Rings, Slow Motion Control Knobs & Counterweights are worth the starting price alone…..enjoy bidding.
