Absolutely brilliant telescope to get you off on your amateur
astronomy journey. In excellent condition.
This is a top notch piece of precision optical equipment, in a ‘6 inch class’ size!
This scope has beautiful clear and sharp images
from its excellent objective lens.
With a range of magnifications available that will take you from whole-disc views of the Moon to detail on Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, and mottling of M13.
See the disc of Ganymede! (Requires very still night!)
Supplied with three 25mm diameter Eyepieces. You can use any 1.25″ or 2″ diameter eyepieces with focal lengths as short as 6mm to see detail on the planets, and wide angle eyepieces to see the whole of the Moon or Pleiades.
It’s a great all-rounder with great light grasp and fast-ish f8 ratio with a 1,200mm focal length = Bright, Detailed, Big Images!
This telescope model is popular because of the precision of the optics and good quality of materials and manufacturing excellence.
It’s got a couple of small scratches and nicks to show, but the optics are first rate and the mechanicals are as together and smooth as the day it left the factory.
All in all a very impressive and capable instrument that never fails to impress.
It really is a superb example of this excellent quality telescope.

What astro wonders can you see with this telescope?

Due to the nice long focal length you have excellent colour correction and a good image scale.
This fantastic telescope represents excellent image detail and reasonlabe deep sky too,
due to the relatively short focal ratio and good light grasp.
This telescope will show you much more than the basics of general astronomy very nicely:
You’ll be able to view:
Galaxies, nebulae, double-stars, clusters and a good amount of detail on the planets.
Mercury and Venus will show their phases.
Mars will show a polar cap and markings.
You can locate at least thirty Asteroids.
Jupiter will show four to six bands / belts (and, of course, its four Galilean moons).
Saturn will show its rings, banding, its moon ‘Titan’ and several other moons on a ‘still’ night.
Uranus and Neptune will be visible as tiny greeny / bluey discs.
(You can’t reliably see Pluto with a 150mm refractor by eye!
Currently, Pluto is in Saggitarius, just north of ‘the Teapot’ ! )
You will be able to explore hundreds of thousands of craters, mountains, rills and valleys of the Moon
when it’s in a phase, and the amazing ray craters when it’s full.
Star images are very good in this telescope and double stars are very well resolved.
This telescope is defraction limited and will split stars as close as 0.77 arc seconds.
That’s in the realms of seeing Ganymede (0.97″) as a disc!
This telescope is very easy to use despite being rather heavy.
The sturdy EQ5 mounting allows smooth, easy movement of the telescope to follow objects in the
night sky using the slow motion on the RA and Declination axes.
The surprisingly excellent quality of the optics and the
good quality materials makes this a telescope that will impress and please
even the most experienced observer!
