Please note, UK auction, UK bids only.Kern were a famous Swiss maker of high quality binoculars, who were merged into Leica in 1988. This is an excellent example of the sought after Kern Pizar 8×30, a serious high end Porro Binocular of classical design. The build shouts quality and it is a pleasure to view through it. It is certainly among the top six 8×30 classic porros ever made. The binoculars are in superb condition, paint all perfect,coatings all unmarked, clean inside, the strap, case are virtually in mint condition, with no marks, it comes boxed, even the box is excellent, with no rips. Original objective covers and a new micro cleaning cloth included. It was bought in Switzerland in the 1980s and has been well looked after. The 8×30 Pizar is now quite scarce and in this condition rare. It gives pin sharp views, with an FOV of 140m@1000m, smooth focussing and nice tight hinge. If you look carefully at photo 6 you may see atiny amount of shrinkage has resulted in a tiny gap in the leather covering join, not much, and it is only this that prevents me from describing the binocular as being totally mint condition.
