12x magnification with 25mm objective diameter.
Serial No. 4169 dates to c.1897.
The optics are clean and scratch free, although some minor dust particles can be seen inside, even so.the image when viewed is clear and sharp.
Focusing is smooth, but stiff, and more so to the right eyepiece.
Cosmetically the binoculars are in excellent condition, with a beautiful patina that only age can provide.
Various parts of the binoculars show ‘brassing’, particularly to the sloping shoulders, caused by rubbing whilst in the case.
The retailers name ‘Thos Armstrong & Bro’ and telephone number ‘Manchester 2558’ is engraved on the strap lug bars.
The original leather case – in excellent condition – is also included.Pictures sell!
