THESE CARL ZEISS JENA ‘JENOPTEM 8×30 WIDE’ MULTI-COATED BINOCULARS (serial no.4905700) COME IN WELL USED BUT PRETTY GOOD WORKING CONDITION.THE FRONT OPTICS AND PRISMS LOOK CLEAN AND SCRATCH AND FUNGUS FREE. THE EYE-PIECE OPTICS THOUGH DO HAVE SOME BLEMISHES/FUNGUS AS CAN BE SEEN IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS. (THE PHOTO MAKES IT LOOK A LOT WORSE THAN IT ACTUALLY IS). THIS DOES NOT IMPACT ON USE HOWEVER AND THEY ARE STILL VERY CLEAR INDEED TO LOOK THROUGH. THE BODYWORK SHOWS SOME WEAR AND TEAR AS EXPECTED WITH AGE, MAINLY IN THE FORM OF PAINT LOSS TO THE RIMS AND AXIS, BUT THERE ARE NO DINGS AND THE LEATHERETTE IS CLEAN AND COMPLETE. THE FOCUSSING MOVEMENTS ARE SMOOTH BUT A TOUCH STIFF ON THE EYE-PIECE. A VERY USABLE PAIR OF BINOCULARS WHICH WOULD BENEFIT FROM A SERVICE. THEY ARE PROTECTED IN A LEATHER CARRY CASE WITH STRAP.
