The`CHINON` name was U.K. high street retailer DIXON`s premium binocularbrand back in the 70`s and 80`s. The most expensive models wereexcellent quality Japanese sourced instruments and are well worthseeking out in today`s vintage optics collectors market.Thislisting is for a CHINON 8X 30 porroprism binocular with EXTRA WIDE FIELD giving an impressivefield of view of 9 degrees. Clearly well used but with loads of lifeleft and optically very good I`ve enjoyed using them and alwayslike to be surprised by functionality of an old `cheap` instrument.They feature rubber fold down eyecups for spectacle wearers andatripod mount in the lower hinge. Completewith a case, all straps and three lens caps one objective lenscap is missing. A new microfibre lens cloth is supplied.
DEFECTS:SOME INTERNAL DUST SPECKS AND JUST A HINT OF HAZE COMMENSURATEWITH ITS AGE;EXTERNALLY THERE ARE A FEW BODY CHIPS AND MARKS & PAINT LOSSMOSTLYFROM THE PRISM COVER AND HINGE EDGES.
