Celestron 4SE telescope. Maksutov-Cassegrain design, 4″ aperture. GOTO controlled – complete a short alignment process, and then ‘goto’ any of thousands of celestial objects stored in the telescope’s memory.
This telescope has been well cared for but has had plenty of use – it hasn’t been shoved away in a dusty cupboard! It has shown me the craters on the moon, Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s cloud belts, the moons of Jupiter, phases of Venus, the Andromeda Galaxy, dozens of nebulae and scores of double stars.
The telescope comes with all the accessories shown in the photos, including the Powertank as these telescopes eat batteries otherwise.
The telescope is in perfect working order – happy to demonstrate how to operate the GOTO, and comes with the full instruction booklet. It also comes with the original eyepiece (25mm) which gives a magnification of 53x. This can be increased with extra eyepieces or a Barlow lens, up to a maximum useful magnification of about 200x.
So why am I selling this fantastic but of kit? Apeture fever – I want a bigger one!
