Carl Zeiss Jena DDR “Jenoptem” 8 x 30w multi-coated binoculars serial number 6646005 (1987.) These are a pair of genuine East German Zeiss binoculars clearly marked “DDR” and with the correct 7-digit serial number.They feature the revoluntionary “T3M” optical multi-coatings for optimal viewing even in challenging low-light conditions. These binoculars are in very sound, fault-free optical condition with perfect, crystal-clear internals and with absolutely no damage to prisms or lenses and the optical coatings. But note a tiny surface scratch on the left objective lens – I have tried to photograph it but it is so small. This cannot been seen in normal use and does not affect performance in any way. Collimation is perfect with no double image. They focus very smoothly and produce and bright, pin-sharp image. Cosmetic condition is very good but there are some signs of wear to the paint through regular use. They have their solid leather red velvet lined case, a new replacement case strap and black leather binocular lanyard. A fine example of this classic Zeiss glass ready to give many more years of enjoyable use. The binoculars will be carefully packed in a well padded box for dispatch and sent fully insured.
