CarlZeiss Jena DDR Deltrintem 8 x 30 large field wide-anglebinoculars serial number 5229790 (1980). This is a pair of genuineEast German Zeiss binoculars clearly marked DDR and with thecorrect 7-digit serial number. The Deltrintem was the premium-range East German Zeiss 8 x 30 binocular, superior to the standardJenoptem. These particular glasses also feature T3M multi-coatedoptics, a world-first for East German Zeiss, guaranteeing outstandingoptical performance even in the most challenging viewing conditions.An added bonus here is a rare black leather top-loading luxury case, usually sold with a brown version.Thesebinoculars are in close to new condition both optically andcosmetically, having clearly been very well cared for. Internaloptics are crystal-clear, no trace of fungus, dirt or haze.Collimation is also perfect, no double image. All lenses and prismsare free from chips and scratches. The only minor defect that I coulddiscover was a tiny silver speck in the right objective lens. Theseare caused by ageing of the optical cement and have no effect onviewing. The binoculars produce a bright, clear, pin-sharp image.Cosmetic condition is also excellent, close to new as the photosshow.Theyare sold with their red velvet lined solid-leather black case, caseshoulder strap and lanyard. Overall, a exceptionally fine pair oftop-quality binoculars from Carl Zeiss, byword for optical excellencefor over a century.Thebinoculars will be carefully packed in a well padded box for dispatchand sent fully insured.
