Carl Zeiss Jena 8×30 coated binoculars. REBRANDED!! In very good used condition with brown leather case. PLEASE READ before bidding!
Without a doubt Carl Zeiss Jena binoculars were sold in the UK rebranded. I have seen recently a pair rebranded as “Dolland” (the opticians). Similarly there is no way that Wm Taylor of Nottingham made this present pair. The binos are rebranded. I don’t for a moment think these were Carl Zeiss Jena copies. In my opinion they are the real thing.
They ooze quality. By the way the brown on the binos is lubricating grease. That’s why they move so well! The case is darker than shown in my photos, and for sure the eyepieces are the same size and height but if you turn the dioptre ring the height will change accordingly. Of course they can be returned to neutral for someone else’s eyesight and vision!
But here’s the mystery: these binos were “Made in France”. Allegedly! Nor have they serial numbers!
I am still convinced they are Carl Zeiss Jena unless someone can tell me differently but why the message “Made in France” as opposed to the GDR?. This is baffling!
Whatever the pedigree you will receive an excellent pair of very easy to use coated binoculars. They even look good, don’t they? And feel even better! but only bid after you have read my above views on them. Thank you. If you think I am wrong, please advise.
