Fromthe 60’s. Carl Zeiss Jena observation binoculars 80 x 500, having20-40x variable magnification, in original painted condition completewith matching tripod and wooden storage box. Also included twoyellow clip-on eyepiece filters.Opticsin excellent condition, there being no visible haze or fungus withinthe body or cleaning scratches to the external lens surfaces. Collimation is good. No cosmetic damage to the body except for a fewmissing flakes of paint. See high definition photos. There isslight damage to the cast pivot bracket on one leg of the tripod butthis does not impact on its use (see last photo). Goodfor use on land,sea or sky. See accompanying copy of manufacturer’spamphlet. The range is such that an object viewed at 1000m. distancewill appear to be at 50m. or 25m. away, depending on themagnification selected, and having the extreme clarity of image whichis to be expected from an instrument of this quality. Individual eye adjustment is provided by independent rotation of each eyepiece. Binocularbody is stamped with maker’s name and Serial No. 218428.Dimensionsof the body are 58cms. long and 21cms. wide approx.
