Delivery termsBecause this is a high value, fragile item – my delivery terms are that buyer arranges postage (and insurance at your choice). The postage cost is indicative only; select “collection” to not pay it, and then send me a shipping label that I’ll print out. I’ll pad & wrap the item to your satisfaction, taking photos as I go, and only when you’re happy, send it. I’ll send you my mobile number once you’ve paid, so I can receive an out-for-delivery SMS from the tracked parcel.
Why? This is because of how courier insurance works. If there’s any problem with the item like it being damaged in transit, you will (quite reasonably!) want a refund, and therefore send it back as soon as possible. This invalidates any insurance I, the seller, might buy, since most couriers’ insurance require the item to not be moved while they investigate the claim. No buyer is going to accept waiting up to 28 days (often the turnaround) for their money to be refunded.
So, this way, if the seller arranges delivery and insurance, if something goes wrong in transit, they can claim directly on the insurance that they bought, and there is no wait time, and also the buyer does not now have a broken expensive item.
