British Army Kershaw 6×30 Bino Prism No2 Mk2 Military Binocular WW2 1939

British ArmyKershaw 6×30 Bino Prism No2 Mk2 Military Binocular from 1939, WW2.This Kershaw 6×30 Bino Prism No2 Mk2 military binocular from WW2 are being sold for spares or repair, as the focus needs some attention. They are marked ‘Bino.Prism No.2.MKII’ ‘x6’ along with the serial # 16042 on the left hand eyepiece plate and ‘A. Kershaw & Son, Leeds”1939’ along with ‘Graticules 1/2 apart and 1/4, 1/2 and 1 high’ on the right hand plate. The military ‘crow’s foot’ symbol is stamped on both of the front prism plates. The brass aluminium body work is inquite good shape, witha littlerubbed paint (brassing) on the raised areas consumate with use. The leather type covering isin good, complete condition. The Bakelite eyecups are good, with just a tiny nick out of each. OverallI would describe them as well looked after. The optics are clear and both scratch and fungus free. There is a little internal haze visible when viewing through in reverse, but this does not affect the excellent images provided by this binocular to any great degree. In addition they are well collimated. There isNO reticle present in the right-hand tube. Internally, there are no chips or prism damage present at all, following a thorough inspection. The eyepieces are focused individually, as is the norm with most military binoculars. There is a problem with the focusing, as one eyepiece just turns and doesnt move in and out to focus, while the other won’t quite reach long distance focus. This binocular would produces excellentimages, as soon as the focusing is fixed. Therefore these are sold as spares or repair only. Please see the detailed images provided to fully assess the condition.Overall a very nice collectable British WW2 militarybinocular inneed of some TLC.I’m happy to combine postage.
