Vintage French La Captivante Prismoid Binoculars
These have no maker’s name but they are labelled “La Captivante” on one shaft and “Prismoid Binocular” on the other – I believe they may date from around 1900 or so. They are galilean rather than prismatic (despite the name!). They are in black enamel with leather (or leatherette) and have no interocular adjustment. They are in reasonable condition with no chips, dents or scratches. The lenses are a bit dusty but they are all threaded and can be taken off for cleaning. They come in a rectangular leather case.
