Altair Astro Starwave 152 6inch F5.9 “Red Tube” Achromat Refractor Telescope. This is the Version 2 with the three inch R&P focuser. In excellent condition – there is a 5mm paint chip on the dew shield but otherwise the doublet optics are excellent. The scope also comes with a Skywatcher 9x50mm finder scope, Geoptik bag and an Altair prism diagonal. This prism is in lieu of a normal dialectic mirror and is better for colour correction and chromatic aberration associated with fast refractors. Also includes an Ostara moon and sky glow filter (needed for planetary at F5.9).
I am also including the outstanding Altair Sabre Alt-Az Mount. It has a couple of marks on it but works flawlessly and in addition to the mount I am including the counterweight shaft, two 5kg weights, losmandy/vixen saddle, steel tripod and Geoptik bag

To but this new, it would set you back 1,750.00 so the buy it now price is a bargain. The scope alone weighs 11kg excluding finder scope and diagonal, there are 10kg of weights, mount, tripod – this weighs 30kg so is collection only.
This is a stunning telescope set up but living in the light polluted Northampton town centre, i am not getting the benefit of the 6″ of clear aperture and F5.9 light gathering capability. You need to be in the countryside to appreciate this telescope, it is not the easiest to move and hence the sale. The photos do not clearly show the size of this scope (young adult shown for scale)

Obviously because of the size and 6″ of heavy glass, i will not post or accept courier collection, so it is collection only from Northampton (NN1). Clearly you can travel now, but social distancing shall apply, payment will be by PayPal only so that the telescope can be collected whilst remaining social distant and compliant. This is a reluctant sale as the scope looks stunning in red, but size is making it impractical. I go on holiday on 3rd August so the scope will have to be collected before then.
