This is a british military royal air force binoculars from wwII from ROSS London bino prism X5 MKIV 5×40 made in the year ca. 1941.The “b” marking on right prism indicates the optics are “bloomed” = coated, and the marking 6E/383 is the Royal Air Force code of this binoculars. This is a fixed focus aircraft spotting and maritime reconnaissance including U-boat spotting binoculars.Binoculars are in well used condition, but full working order, centre hinge is a little stiff but still smooth, the front elements show wear and a few marks but surprisingly the optics in use are very clear and bright, I was stunned at the quality and resolution of these for their age and era, beautifully engineered and built to last, both rubber eyecups are missing , strap is in genuine, very nice condition and still strong,
