They haveproducedanastonishing range of optical products over the years and thename is still around offeringbinoculars, monoculars and spotting scopes at competitive prices.Thislisting is for a vintage HILKINSON ARGUS 9 x 63 rubber armoured roofprism binocular from the 1980`s. It is is lovely used condition andcomes with its original good quality case, all its lens caps andstraps. It features multi coated optics, rubber armouring, rubberfold down eyecups for spectacle wearers and a tripod socket. I canconfirm that this binocular produces good sharp and bright images andhandles well with smooth controls. It does a good job of grabbing theavailable light at dusk and dawn. I remember owning an example in thelate 70`s and early 80`s. Essentially, this Japanese large objectiveroof prism design, was a decent copy of the expensive german ZEISSand OPTOLYTH models.
