Comes With: Bag, tripod clamp & Excellent Accompanying Book!

SPECIFICATIONSThese binoculars will show all the basics of astronomy well and it will make an ideal first venture into the realm of ‘Large Binoculars’.

THe Book I enclose is the excellent ‘Discover the Night Sky With Binoculars’, and amazingly detailed and enthralling introduction into what can be seen with a nice sized pair of bins.  Stephen has spent many years refining his knowledge of binocular observation and of the various types.  The book is 145 pages and includes month by month breakdowns of what’s available and what to look for. There are many charts and information pages. A really amazing work to acompany an amazing and impressive pair of binoculars.

Optical diameter = 80mm magnification 20x

Magnitude limit = 12.2
Field of view = 99m at 1,000m 5.7 degrees.  (All of Orion’s belt, and M42 in the same view!)
Close focus app. = 50m

The image in this instrument is nice and clear and the clamp allows them to be secured onto a photographic tripod for steady use. These are perfect for locating the planets, stars and bright deep sky objects.

Weight is <250g in use: So, light enough to carry out for observing, even for young teens, but must be supported on a tripod for astronomical observations. The image is clear and easy to focus. You need to be careful not to knock the binoculars or the instrument may go out of alignment. This is a feature of all large binoculars, but worth repeating here.

IN USE:Imagine observing the magical treasures of the universe beneath a deep azure sky, slewing effortlessly from object to sparkling object, in your own personal programme of astronomical observation… What Wonders Will You See?These binoculars will show you all the basics of general astronomy:-
SOLAR SYSTEM: Detail on the planets
Mercury is visible after or before sunset.
Venus will show its phases.
Mars will show a definite disc.
You can see at least ten Asteroids, if you can track them down!
Jupiter will show a large disc and, of course, its four Galilean moons.
Saturn will show its oval shape and Titan, its biggest moon, easily.
Uranus and Neptune will be visible as tiny greeny / bluey star-like discs.
(You can’t reliably see Pluto even with a 150mm telescope by eye! )
You will be able to explore the craters, mountains, rilles and valleys of the Moon when it’s in a phase, and the ray craters when it’s full.

DEEP SKY: Galaxies, star clouds, nebulae and globular clustersYou can easily see:-
The Andromeda Galaxy (M32), Orion Nebula (M42), Great Globular Cluster in Hercules (M13),The Dumb-bell Nebula (M27),and many more deep sky ‘Messier’ wonders. The Seven Sisters (M45) is a wonderful sight, and will reveal many more members of their extended family in vistas that will amaze!
At the moment we are enjoying the wonders of the Autumn Sky. Jupiter, Saturn and Mars are available in the south after dark.
This means you can get your teeth into observing and learning to use your new bins, without freezing anything off in the process!
