Since the early 70ties the Romanian Optical Industry (IOR) has been supplying the military 7×40 to the Romanian and the Red Army,
produced in Romania under tight army quality control, there was never any effort to cut costs:
Waterproof and Nitrogen filled steel body, Bak4 porro prisms Schott lenses, 98% light transmission, range and angle finding reticle, fog lenses….
please check detailed specifications as well as reviews on the web.
Classic porro prisms layout still have an optical advantage over the newer roof prism.

They are old-school pieces of optics made for military observation and will fulfill a variety of civil roles, like hunting, and they will last. The overall build quality is superb, they are a pleasure to observe with in the dusk.

These 5 are among the last big batches of IOR binoculars supplied to the Romanian Army, dated 1990 (serials 90-xxxx),
rubber is perfect and feels new, has traces of preservation substance. Price is for one pair of binoculars (1 item).

Please be aware that IOR only produces 8×30, 7×40,10×40,10×50,8×21,10×25 binoculars, www.ior.ro
products branded Valdada only may not be IOR, Valdada is a supplier that has done a good job promoting IOR original products,
however their offer includes other brands as well.

Condition: Theese binoculars were never used, they are NewOldStock and have passed factory QC and military reception check.  They they have been put into storage in adequate conditions to be used in case of general mobilising, now they are surpluss.
I have checked them very thoroughly for condition and optics.

disclaimer:  A  minuscule scratch on the outside paint – lenses have no scratch, or fine specks of dirt, traces of preservation grease on hinges or preservation substance on rubber  may be present since they were not manufactured recently in a robotized  factory and are not glittery commercial products. Pictures show that.

On request a copy of the binocular army manual in Romanian comes along.

In the last picture there’s indeed the supreme commander, tovarul Nicolae Ceauescu, at a military application.

I welcome any questions. Please see my listings for other IOR products (compasses) and other Romanian militaria.

Quick worldwide tracked shipping, and adequate packing.
