An Antique Single Draw Marine Telescope.

Approx’ 18 3/4 Inches long when fully closed.

* Unusual in the fact that it has a Leather Padded Eyepiece and recessed Objectives.*

Not Signed that I can see.

Will date to sometime in the 1800’s.

Body made entirely of Brass with a Leather Binding to the Barrel.

The Leather has a split Seam and a couple of nicks but is firmly in place, the remainder of the Seam looks sound, the Loops indicate the original presence of a Strap.

No noticeable dents or other damage to the Brass Barrel underneath the Leather.
As seen I have inspected this Telescope inside and out, all in very good order internally with only extremely minor signs of age and use.

All the Lenses are present and correct, no visible wear or scratches, no cracks or chips, as shown clearly. * Focuses easily and precisely giving a clear and sharp image in use.** All the Threaded Components run well on clean threads and tighten properly, no issues at all.*

* The Objective Carrier is in as far as it will go without using force, runs smoothly, no crossed Threads or other issues, secure and tight.*

Both Ends are strong with no movement.

The Draw is in very good order, no dents at all and no splits or cracks, it is a good friction fit moving smoothly and firmly with only the smallest amount of sideways play at the Joint when fully extended.

* The Steel Collar on the Draw prevents it from traveling inwards any further than the Collar, focuses perfectly, easily and smoothly.*

A very collectable, interesting and working Antique Telescope.

Shown comprehensively in the many pictures, please examine them in close up before you bid, to satisfy yourself as to condition, suitability, etc. of the item(s) shown.I always show items in their true light, and will never deliberately hide a negative or detrimental aspect.
