I have owned these binoculars since new and they have proved a fantastic bargain over the last 19 years. A comment from the Zeiss engineer last August…do you use these please?…I hope that gives you an insight to the condition.
These are in excellent condition all round. I still have the original soft Leather case supplied from new but sadly not the box. I have the original Service card showing the model number and serial number of the binoculars along with the Guarantee card.
There are couple of small marks on the body but no damage. No marks to the pupil lens..but sadly a very small scratch to the Right hand exit pupil. I have had this checked, once again with the Zeiss engineer at the Bird Fair last year…and he confirms that this does not affect the vision through the lens and I can assure you you cannot see any marks when viewing. God forbid it had been the eye pupil…this would. I can assure that the small scratch in no way affects you vision through the lens.
These Zeiss Night Owls were the pinnacle of their era and probably still are for their exceptional light gathering capacity, especially in dusk time and densely wooded environments.
I am sad to see them go but my left eye is becoming more problematic. These binoculars deserve to be used I am hoping to find them a good home for someone else to enjoy these superb optics for many more years.Price 750.00Please check out my other items.
