Offered for sale is a pair of West German Zeiss 10 x 40 BGATdialyt roof prism Binoculars serial no. 1892143. Overall these Binoculars are ingood condition with light wear consistent with age and use. The optical performanceof these binoculars is still outstanding and an absolute pleasure to use. The objective lenses are cleanand clear, minor cleaning scratches can be observed when seen through amagnifying glass. The eye piece lenses are also in good order, however one smallcleaning scratch is visible with the naked eye on the lower outside edge of theright hand lense. Internally the Binoculars also appear to be bright and clear. The focusing wheel operatespositively and smoothly as does the diopter setting wheel. The central hinge systemis also nice and firm. Brand new eye cup rubbers werefitted in August 2016 when they were checked over and serviced by the Zeisstechnicians at the Rutland Bird Fair. The Binoculars come with Zeissrubber rain guard, and a brand new unused Zeiss neoprene carrying strap andzipped soft carrying case, as shown on the attached photographs. From smoke and pet free home.
