WWII BINO PRISM No5 MK 2 x7 war issue binoculars and case.
These binoculars were issued to my Great Uncle who served as a Chaplain to the British Forces in Burma during World War II. He gave them to my father who gave them to me about 30 years ago.
The binoculars are made by Ross of London and are number 4374.
The bakelite eyepiece is damaged on the right as can be seen in the photographs, however this does not affect the zoom function of the lens, apart from that, the binoculars are in remarkably good order considering they are nearly 80 years old.
The case is in very good condition on the outside, it has a few tears on the inside but nothing to compromise it’s strength or integrity and is embossed on the top with “BINO. PRISM. NO5 CASE MK. 1 O.S. 997 P1.
