A pair of Carl Zeiss Jena DF8 x 24 binoculars which I believe from the inscribed No 772377 date these to the first half of 1917. These are in a lovely Negretti and Zamba leather case.
The binoculars are in fair condition considering their age, the lenses are not cracked and there is a “range finder” visible when looking through the lenses. Quite a lot of rubbing and wear to the body but no dents or dings, the surrounds to the eye pieces are complete and not cracked. They have a narrow leather carrying strap attached.
Again the Negretti and Zamba case is in remarkable condition for its age. All stitching complete but missing the buckle at the front. A large part of the gold coloured Negretti and Zamba name and design is still visible but a label of some sort seems to have been stuck over it this at some stage – I have tried to show this in the photos.
