WW1 era Binoculars.

With partial research.
I bought this pair of binoculars,because of the officers name on the case.
I then researched this officers name and found a lot of interesting information.
Name is “Captain J Hennessy” on the binoularc case.
First thing i did was to try the “medal card index” which shows only 2 results for “Captain J M R Hennessy” both to the same man,but different numbered card indexes.
Medal card index showed him as “Indian Medical Service”.
Then a google search for his full name “Captain J M R Hennessy” shows a mention in the London Gazette,for being made up to a Major in 1925.
Then another result from a google search showed a result from the South African auction website,this showed a group of medals to “Capt J M R Hennessy”.
Heis group of medals where 7 in total,consisting of “OBE award, 14-15 star, 14-18 medal, victory medal, Indian medal with North West Frontier clasp, Jubilee medal and Coronation medal 1937”.
So a very interesting piece of research.
Worthy of much further research.
Binoculars are in good condition.
Makers name on the binoculars.
Binoculars still work o.k with clear bright images.
Some play in the joint hinge.
Lenses are all intact.
A genuine WW1 era pair of binoculars,embossed name is embossed in gold original period lettering.
Well patinated condition.
Binoculars and case only, sadly i have no other items, would be good to reunite binocs with medals..but very unlikely.
