SOLD FOR REFURBISHMENT ONLY WW1 1918 dated Heath & Co. Prism Binoculars .Genuine WW1 British Army Binoculars
Over 100 years old – wornThe textured grips are in good used orderBrass Prism covers have wear to paint – the tops were overpainted – I managed to clean some off to reading wording – Brass could be polished .
Left prism top marked – Heath & Co. London no.297 under large /|Right – Stereo Prism Binocular Power =6 under large /|Underside has 2 large War Dept. broad arrow marks /|NPL 18 mark – I think it is National Laboratory proving mark or similar ( 1918) Again , lowers Brass – could be polished
Eye focus – Bakelite needs a wipe over but undamaged
LENSES – when viewed quite dirty / clogged with Fungus – spotty / dirt / hazyThe right lens is clearer with just a small amount of wispy fungus .Need stripping and cleaningLower of right lens has an oily rainbow effect at outer edges – I don’t think it is chipping – maybe something on inner of lens or lens delamination ???
