Vortex Razor HD 8 x 42 Binoculars APO HD Glass + Glasspak chest harness.
Condition is “As New”, having only left the house twice, and having been kept in a dedicated padded chest harness. Lenses are perfect.
Razor is Vortex’s flagship product line. 8x is widely regarded as the highest magnification you can hold steady whilst out in the field.
Japanese APO glass elements deliver pin sharp optical reproduction thanks to minimised chromatic aberration. 42mm objective lenses and a 5.25mm exit pupil deliver optimal dawn/dusk performance. These binoculars are particularly popular with deer stalkers, where the first 10 minutes, and the last 10 minutes of light are crucial.
These binoculars provide the optical clarity of full-sized binoculars, in a lightweight semi-compact form factor. When used with the included Glasspak chest harness, you won’t even notice you’re carrying them.
Genuine reason for sale. I’d love to hold on to these binoculars, because having tested them against the likes of Leica and Swarovski binoculars these Vortex Razors are an absolute steal. I initially went with these binoculars and a separate laser rangefinder rather than a binocular with an integrated LRF because I didn’t want to compromise on optical quality and low-light performance. However, I’ve subsequently switched to a binocular with integrated LRF and Applied Ballistics computer, because for me these features do justify the associated drop in optical quality.
