Vintage Military WW1 Admiralty Royal Navy Ross Of London 6×30 Individual Eyepiece Focusing Stereo Prism Series Binoculars c1917
Although not marked on them I believe the military designation was No 2 Mk 1. Lots of Admiralty Arrow Markings. The serial number 80755 and the yellow arrows (introduced in 1917) suggest a date of 1917-18
Interestingly there is a shadow stamping showing the same information as if the machine malfunctioned and they had to be re-stamped.
No case (probably never had one) and although the plate says graticuled I can’t see any evidence of this. Not unusual as the Navy often used the same ones for years (WW2 and beyond), replacing broken lenses with what was available.
Optics and mechanism good with no damage, just normal service wear. Japanning worn, as is leather in places.
