VINTAGE TONELLE PARIS & LONDON LIGHTWEIGHT 8×26 BINOCULARS
On offer here is a pair of VINTAGE TONELLE PARIS & LONDON LIGHTWEIGHT 8×26 BINOCULARS.MADE IN FRANCE.
As would be expected of a vintage pair of binoculars, the binoculars do exhibit some external signs of wear. For instance, there is some noticeable surface material/paintwork loss in places, as well as some surface scratching. The winning bidder may also wish to give the binoculars a little clean, as they are slightly on the dirty side. I have uploaded a number of photographs, so please take a look at these to help make your own assessments.
The main focusing dial of the binoculars exhibits nice, smooth movement and is in full working order. Unfortunately, the focusing dial of the right viewfinder appears to be stuck, and I have been unable to get it into motion. I am unsure whether the winning bidder will be able to rectify this. Please bear this in mind when bidding.
Optically, the binoculars provide a nice, sharp image (if one puts aside the issue with the focusing dial of the right viewfinder). Looking backwards through the binoculars, I can confirm that there is no damage to the internal prisms. There is, however, a moderate presence of fungal growth and internally-located fibres, which has a slight inhibitory effect upon the optical viewing. Again, please take this into account when bidding.
The binoculars come with attached lanyard.
The binoculars come with what I believe to be their original hard case (MADE IN ENGLAND). Whilst the case is significantly worn, it nevertheless remains in sturdy condition, and continues to fasten successfully.
