Vintage Japanese 8 * 40 prismatic binoculars
Lovely pair of unbranded, but high quality, binoculars
As you can see, they have had very little use
They were obviously taken to Sedgefield races, in Durham, back in 1970 and the previous owner attached his tickets to the straps. I’ve left these in place but it’s an interesting piece of local history
Focus and diopter (or dioptre, depending on where you live) are smooth and definite
The image is beautiful, bright and clear and they’re a pleasure to use – the oversized focus wheel is a really nice touch
Some external dust. As far as I can tell, everything inside is clean
The case, caps and straps are complete
Overall, these are a gorgeous pair of vintage binoculars
