Vintage Edwardian Gentleman’s Racing Binoculars/Field Glasses Le Jockey Club Paris
A charming pair of vintage Edwardian Gentlemen’s Racing Binoculars/Field Glasses, made in France under the name Le Jockey Club, Paris (obviously marketing for the Anglophile sporting fraternity!) Classic Edwardian bell-shaped body, black leather and chrome/white metal fittings, nicely-milled. Fit comfortably in the hand/overcoat pocket and so convenient but with a reassuring weight to them. Characterful used condition, various dings including a chip to one of the lenses, and other wear (e.g. to the chrome plating) but still functional (I use them as opera glasses) : optically they seem quite good to me.
