DESCRIPTION
* An Edwardian or later 3 Draw Brass Spotting or Stalking Telescope presented in unrestored condition and good working order.
* Very finely machined and precise threads to all lenses. This is a high quality instrument.
* Original dark patination to exposed brass sections
* Eye-piece with sliding dust cover.
* Achromatic 1 & 9/16ths Objective Lens. The Crown and Flint Glass Lenses do not appear ever to have been separated but they are easy to clean from both sides and are clea
* Schryle-Huygens Four Lens Configuration housed within the First Draw.
When the eyepiece is unscrewed, it provides access to a removable 2.25″ brass cartridgehousingLenses 1 & 2, both removable for cleaning. The cartridge fitted appears to be a fairly high-resolution one – probably about 40x.When the 1st Draw is uncoupled from the 2nd Draw, asecond 2.25″” cartridge containing Lenses 3 and 4 is accessible in the First Draw. Again, both lenses can be unscrewed and removed for cleaning.
Condition:
All lenses are intact and clear. It focuses superbly. All the brass draw tubes move smoothly and there is absolutely no damage. All threads finely and well engineered and unscrew easily to permit cleaning

SUMMARY:
This is a finely preserved example of a high-precision instrument in good working order. It would make a superb addition to any collection of period telescopes. It is in remarkably good condition for its age. It focuses easily and delivers good sharp images over quite long distances – just as would be expected in a marine telescope of the period.
