Mount with integrated polar-wedge.

At first glance it looks like BRESSER`S refractor telescope 70/900 EL has a normal alt-azimuth mount with it´s up/down and left/right positioning just like we know on standard camera tripods. This is advantageous for daytime observations.

However the integrated polar-wedge allows for easy changeover to an equatorial mount. Converting to astronomy use is simply a matter of loosening one thumb-knob and adjusting the mount so that the celestial targets can be examined at high magnifications. With equatorial mounts, one axis is tilted towards the celestial pole, to allow you to track objects efficiently in the night sky by turning one slow motion handle. This simplifies viewing in comparison to the alt-azimuth mount with it´s up/down and left/right positioning.
