telescope primary mirror 10.25 inch  f6 60,needs recoating, after doing some research i now suspect this mirror, belonged to V.A.Sage , who was a prolific astronomer and close friend of Patric Moore, in 1978, If you look at the charts they were doing earth shine predictions, at Bristol., with a 10.25 inch reflector, this must be that mirror from that telescope , so the value of this mirror has to be considerable not only with the link, but also historically, so i am putting a price value of 1000, for starters, and open to offers, this must be an exceptional mirror .it is to my mind that  if this mirror was used by such outstanding people in the world of astronomy, it must be of the highest quality, these small off the shelf telescopes, are ok , but if you want a serious scope this is the heart you need

, i have owned a C8, and  a baush and lomb, 4 inch, but this mirror is far superior. i have put it in at 1000 because that is what i think it is worth, but i am open to any sensible offers, dont want it to go for 50.if you were to buy the same high grade mirror now. they are asking 1,700 dollars.in the U.S.A.

i purchased the whole telescope a few years ago it had been left outside to the elements, the fellow i purchased it of bought it at auction and never used it, so i rescued it but unfortunately the whole mount had rusted beyond repair, so i intended re building the scope using the primary, when i put this on the auction site most people were interested if it had a makers mark, so i did the research and lo and behold ,a diamond in the rough,. as you can see i have tried to highlight all the information on the mirror , this mirror would be a super project for some engineering minded  astronomer capable of constructing as suitable mount, and a brilliant project to to tide them over this covid period, not only that they would have a superior telescope, to me far better than anything bought off the shelf, as i said it is my opinion of the value but i am open to offers. good luck Pete. P.S. have decided to drop the price of the mirror to cover the cost of my purchase, however any prospective buye,r i will not be posting outside of the U.K. unless the buyer pays the postage in any other country.
